Prodexpo’2009, the 16th International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials, will take place on February 9-13,2009.

This year all the expositions will be shown in pavilions No. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 (including Hall 8A, ground level), the Forum Pavilion, temporary Central and Centre-Forum Pavilions, and open air sites of Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The Prodexpo International Exhibition is considered to be the largest international forum in Russia and Eastern Europe, and is the most important and significant annual event in the food industry.

Organized by Expocentre, Prodexpo is held with the support from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow, and under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The high international status of Prodexpo is recognized with labels of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and of RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.

A wide range of foodstuff by national and foreign manufacturers presented in 16 product sections covering all branches of the food industry, a high international status, the quantity of participants and the audience’s professionalism let Prodexpo keep its high level regardless of the present market cataclysms.

This year the total exhibition space exceeds 80 000 sq m.
More than 1 800 exhibitors from57 European, Asian, American and African countries will demonstrate their products.

Prodexpo’2009 visitors will get familiarized with the best samples of national and foreign food produce.

About 60% of the Prodexpo’2009 exhibitors are leading national enterprises and firms.

36 countries will present their national and joint expositions: Australia, Austria, Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia,Lithuania, Mexico, Moldova, Poland, Republic of Korea, Republic of South Africa, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Sri-Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay, and the USA.

National expositions of Europe, Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina) and Australia have been traditional for many years.

Asian countries enter the Russian market very actively. Every year expositions of Thailand, Republic of Korea and Chinese companies (beverages, tea, canned food, traditional export goods) noticeably expand.

The same tendency is observed with some other countries. As compared with 2008, the expositions of Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Serbia have become larger this year.
For the first time Japan will present traditional foodstuffs and beverages by Japanese manufacturers at two expositions.

Expositions featuring various foodstuff and beverages from Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Latvia and Thailand are the largest ones.

This year France arranges two separate expositions to showcase wine and delicacies, and meat correspondingly.
The national expositions of Tunisia, Singapore, Japan and Uruguay are a premiere of the year.

For the first time Kazakhstan exposes a wide variety of its foodstuff and beverages on a big exhibition space of 300 sq m. 

The Mexican exposition is very attractive. National dishes are cooked directly on the booths and those who wish can taste the Mexican cuisine.

The same arrangements are expected on the booths of Japan and France. 

The Prodexpo thematic sections will give a demonstration of the full range of food products, thus reflecting all changes and development trends of both the domestic and global food markets.

This year the growth of Italian and French expositions is obvious.

Portuguese companies, firms from Germany, Austria, Republic of South Africa and from other countries producing wine and alcoholic drinks show their growing interest in the Exhibition.
A Consulting Centre established by the Prodexpo Management in association with the Legal Bridge firm   will work within the PRODEXPO’2009 International Exhibition. Exhibitors and visitors will get free verbal consultation from lawyers, attorneys, financial consultants and auditors on legal and financial issues.
Prodexpo’2009 comprises a large-scale programme of accompanying events. It will allow conducting discussions on major marketing strategies for foodstuff promotion and on different healthy food issues.
The Days of Moldovan Wine will take place on February 9-10, 2009. The presentation of Moldavian wines is organized with the support from the Government of Moldova.

Contests held within the Prodexpo’2009 event programme are important means of improving the quality of foodstuff entering the Russian market. They include the Best Product Contest, the Prodexpo’2009 Innovation Product Contest, the Choice of Food Store Chains Open Contest, the ProdExtraPack Contest, and the Best Enterprise of the 21st Century Multibranch Contest.

The Exhibition is open from 10.00 till 18.00

The official opening of Prodexpo’2009 will be held on 9 February at 12:00 in the gallery between pavilions 2 and 8.
