Prodexpo'2010 - the 17th International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials – was successfully held at the Expocentre Fairgrounds on February 8-12, 2010. The largest food forum in Russia and Eastern Europe was organized by Expocentre with the support from the Russian Federation Agriculture Ministry and under the patronage of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Moscow City Government and the Council of Executives of the CIS member states Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The high international status of the Prodexpo exhibition is acknowledged with labels of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).  

Russian Federation Minister of Agriculture Elena Srynnik visited Prodexpo’2010. She became acquainted with expositions of the Russian leading meat-processing holding companies and noted that the show was very important for the Russian processing industry.

The exhibition was visited by Mexican Agriculture Minister Francisco Mayorga, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Hungary Miklós Süth, His Royal Highness Prince Consort Henrik of Denmark, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Russia Per Karlsen and other officials. 

This year the total exhibition space of Prodexpo exceeded 80 000 sq m.   1790 companies from 57 countries of the world displayed their products. Prodexpo’2010 was attended by over 56 000 visitors, 91% of whom were specialists of the food industry.  

28 countries exhibited their national and joint expositions. The participation of companies from Germany, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Mexico, Thailand and France on the state level was the most impressive.

The Republic of Peru took part in the exhibition for the first time. The Peru National Exposition was represented by the Russian- Peruvian trading house and the Peru National Commission for Export and Tourism Promotion – PROMPERU. The Forum ‘Peru in Russia: Trade and Investments’ was held within the framework of the Peru national exposition.  Ambassador of Peru to Russia Marta Elena Toledo-Okampo addressed a welcoming speech to the Forum participants. 

The specialists’ attention was attracted by the seminar on foreign-economic activity organized by the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Argentina in Moscow. The event was dedicated to the specifics of a foreign-economic contract – legal peculiarities of the conclusion and performance of international contracts, and settlement of disputes.  

Within the framework of the 17th International Exhibition Prodexpo’2010 The First Russia-Japan Congress on Agriculture and Food Market ‘Investments and Development of Agro-Industry’2010’ took place in the Congress Centre of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  The Congress was organized by the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support from the Russian Federation Agriculture Ministry and the Embassy of Japan in Russia.   

The 5th All-Russian Trade Forum ‘Supplier’2010. Cooperation Strategy with Retail Chains’ comprised in Prodexpo’2010 was held with great success The Forum embraced The Network Purchasing Centre™.  242 representatives of the largest retail chains from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Mongolia took part in the event. Exchange on a Private Brand Name took place within the bounds of the Network Purchasing Centre for the first time. Foodstuff producers communicated with the Private Brand Name project managers there.

     During Prodexpo the Russian leading alcohol market players gathered at the All-Russia Congress of Regional Distributors of Alcoholic Beverages, organized by company   NAPITKI Media (RIA NAPITKI) for the fifth time. The Congress subject was the present and the future of the alcohol business. 

The ProdExtraPack'2010 Specialized Exhibition became a novelty of Prodexpo'2010. The successful development of the packaging salon within the bounds of Prodexpo enabled to single it out as an independent exposition. This year 70 participants displayed modern packaging concepts for the food industry.

The Ice Cream Salon was organized by Expocentre and the Union of Russian Ice Cream Makers for the first time.  Leading companies-producers of ice cream, Russian and foreign manufacturers of machinery, raw materials, ingredients, trade and refrigerating equipment, packing and special transport took part in the Salon.  

Prodexpo’2010 embraced many contests.  Furthermore, the first project of brand names visualization - Brands Avenue™ - was successfully launched. The project was aimed at the foodstuffs market leaders. The corporative flags of the major food industry players were put up in the Gallery between pavilions No. 2 and 8 to demonstrate their leadership.
