Press Release. Prodexpo 2016 23rd International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials

From February 8 to 12 Expocentre Fairgrounds (Moscow) plays host to the 23rd International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials Prodexpo 2016. It is a major food industry event in Russia and Eastern Europe. The show will run in Pavilions No.1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, Forum, Central, and on open air site of the fairgrounds.

The trade show is held by Expocentre ZAO and supported by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. It runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This important industry event has won the highest recognition within the exhibition community. It was approved by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF, the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. A growing interest of exhibitors and visitors in Prodexpo testifies to its high effectiveness for business development. Since Prodexpo was first launched, the number of participants has increased more than fourfold, and the exhibition area – fivefold.

According to the Russian National Exhibition Rating established by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, Prodexpo was recognized Russia’s largest exhibition in the Food Products category in the nominations “Exhibition Space”, “Professional Interest”, and “Market Coverage”.

Prodexpo 2016 participants will demonstrate a wide range of food and beverages from across the world. For exhibitors and visitors’ convenience the trade show is divided into salons representing various sectors of the food and drink industry.

In 2016 the total exhibition space amounts to about 100,000 sq m.

The best food and beverages, the latest technology and accomplishment will be presented by 1,986 companies from 65 countries: Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Colombia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Morocco, the Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of South Africa, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, the USA, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Many countries are interested in arranging large national pavilions. 27 countries – Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia, Mexico, the Republic of South Africa, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Spain, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay – will organize their national pavilions at Prodexpo. The largest pavilions will be organized by France, Brazil, Spain, Armenia, Chile, Argentina, China, and Hungary. It is worth mentioning that Chile and Brazil have significantly increased their pavilions. Companies from Sri Lanka expand their assortment. Apart from tea, they will first demonstrate fish and seafood, nuts, dried fruit, and coconut products to the visitors.

A company from Fiji will make its debut at the show. It is an absolutely new region for the Russian food market, which offers consumers fish and seafood. New offers are expected in the Tea and Coffee Salon: Indonesian and Nepali companies enter the Russian market. For the first time Tunisia will organize a national pavilion. This year Syrian companies also make their debut and participate in the Confectionery Salon. Baltic region will be represented in Latvian pavilion. After a break the Czech Republic arranges its pavilion at Prodexpo 2016.

Russia will be presented by 1,424 companies from all regions. Compared to 2015 the number of Russian participants increased by 10%.Companies fromthe Central, Northwestern, Siberian, Southern, and Volga Federal Districts will showcase a traditionally wide range of food and drinks.

So, the number of Russian participants in the Dairy Products and Cheese Salon has increased by 20%; the Groceries and CerealsSalon – by 44%. The Confectionery and Bakery Salon has extended by 13% to become Prodexpo largest salon comprising 311 companies.

The Fish and Seafood Salon mirrors the latest trends in the Russian fish industry. We observe an increase in the number of Russian exhibitors from the Far East, the Crimea, Kaliningrad, and Murmansk.

The mineral water segment, which is part of the Juices and Soft Drinks Salon, has been enlarged. It will be well presented by the companies from South Russia and the North Caucasus.

New Russian companies joined the Meat and Meat Products Salon. The meat industry leaders traditionally participate in the Salon, among them Russia’s largest agro-industrial holdings, meat factories, and poultry plants. Geography of the Salon’s international participants has changed. The number of companies from Latin America increased, among them Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. Meat exporters from India will participate in the Salon for the first time.

Prodexpo’s Alcoholic Drinks Salon is unique and has no rivals in Russia. 178 Russian and 106 international companies from 23 countries participate in the Salon. They demonstrate a wide range of alcoholic products from beer and sparkling wine to cognac and exclusive strong alcoholic drinks. The Wine from Russia project aimed at support of Russian winegrowing and winemaking will be implemented at the salon.

On the whole, the soft and alcoholic drinks sectors have reached a new development level according to the current industry demands. “Glass Containers” and “Closures, Packaging Design, Beverage Processing” salons will open at Prodexpo 2016.

This year we witness some boost in the number of Russian regional expositions, they increased almost twice compared to 2015. Alongside well-known expositions from the Kirov, Penza, Kostroma, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Tula Regions, group stands from the Stavropol Krai, KransnoyarskKrai, and Tver Regionwill be first presented at the trade show. Visitors will have a chance to evaluate a rich assortment of unique food and drinks specific to a particular region of Russia, e.g. pine cone varenye, herbal tea, air dried meats, high class fishes, kvass, mineral water, and cedar milk.

69 Belarusian manufacturers and suppliers, 30 Armenian participants, 13 Kazakh manufacturers will take part in the exhibitionthis year. Companies from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan also participate in Prodexpo.
