Prodexpo: you will find what you are seeking and even more

Less than a month left till Prodexpo, a major food show, but it is already clear that the 2019 edition will please the food market professionals with a number of premieres.

According to the food industry professionals, who have tried different types of promotion, business cycle in Russia starts with Prodexpo. It is here to Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow come manufacturers of food and beverages from all over the world at the beginning of February and create a huge food exhibition on 100 thousand square metres. At Prodexpo you will find everything from essential foodstuff and beverages to finest delicacies as well as organic and sport nutrition, healthy food, halal, kosher, and exotic products. Here is Russia’s largest showcase of alcoholic drinks and wines from more than 30 countries. The opportunities of participating manufacturers and distributors in terms of supply scope are broad range: from supplies to federal chains to small stores and exclusive products to restaurants.

That is why Prodexpo brings together purchasers of federal and local chains which are strategic customers of the food industry in Russia and the Eurasian countries and representatives of HoReCa i.e., restaurants, bars, and cafes. At Prodexpo you will find what you are seeking and even more. It is here the food industry business is built. According to statistics, in 2018 the Prodexpo Center of Retail Chains featured 1,346 purchasers from 585 chains and company stores.
Prodexpo is a trade show with a 25-year history that has always developed, changed and updated following new trends and offering participants and visitors new opportunities. That is why Prodexpo is interesting for food professionals.

Manufacturers’ launch of new products, trademarks, and brands coincides with Prodexpo. A number of companies have already announced that they will show their new products at Prodexpo 2019.
Every year newcomers make themselves known: this year 14% of exhibitors will make their debut. Moreover, new companies will take part in all 28 salons of the trade show.

The geography profile of the Prodexpo attendees is increasing. For the first time in 2019 Pakistan will enter the Russian market. A major rice producer has confirmed its participation. The total number of the Prodexpo exhibitors will be more than 2,300 companies from 65 countries.
Every year newcomers showcase their products within group stands. The national pavilions from Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Macedonia, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Uruguay, and Uzbekistan have already confirmed their participation in Prodexpo. The Indonesian pavilion will be supported by the Embassy of their country. Kazakhstan considers arrangement of a group stand.  The German showcase within the Alcoholic Drinks Salon will be first organised by the German Wine Institute.

The Russian regional showcases, kind of visiting cards of regions that annually please visitors with new products of special taste and flavor, have proven to be successful. The regional authorities, who are interested in promotion of small and middle size companies in the food market, acknowledge Prodexpo as an effective marketing tool. Companies from the Krasnoyarsk, Kirov, Kostroma, Novosibirsk, Penza, Ryazan, Tver, Tomsk, and Tula regions have already expressed their intention to participate in the trade show. In 2019 the Amur, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Kursk, Omsk, Orlov, and Pskov regions will make their debut in 2019.

The trade show will feature the Prodexpo Organic Salon for the first time. This topic has been developed for years. At last in 2018 the Law on Organic Products was passed in Russia. This law was expected by both customers and honest manufacturers who were ready to develop this promising niche. The law will come into force in 2020 but even now at Prodexpo one can see the appearance of a new segment of the Russian food market. At the upcoming trade show the Prodexpo Organic Salon will present the companies which have organic certificates valid for February, 2019. In close vicinity there will be manufacturers whose products are at the stage of conversion transition and the companies that present less than 70% of organic product range.

The MultiFood section has been created for the HoReCa representatives. The section demonstrates products for restaurants and brings together wholesale distribution centres and trade houses working with small orders.
