The 14th Halal International Congress was held
The 14th Halal International Congress was held at the Prodexpo 2024 exhibition under the motto Halal - the Path to Growth. It was organised by the International Centre for Standardisation and Certification “Halal” under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation.
The Halal International Congress is the oldest and most authoritative domestic conference in the field of halal products and services in our country. The event has been held since 2011 and gathers experts and practitioners in the field of halal certification and standardisation, halal production technology, export of halal products abroad and development of new foreign markets.
The Congress was attended by diplomats: ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary and staff of diplomatic missions of the countries of the Islamic East and Africa, as well as Russian representatives working in the countries of the Islamic world.
This year, the participants emphasised the entry of Russian halal products into the markets of African countries, the development of the tourism sector through certification to halal standards, and the pressing issue of developing and adopting national halal standards.
The congress consisted of four sessions: Halal Industry as a Driver of Export of Russian Agricultural Products, Development of Halal Industry: a Matter of State Importance, Science and Education as an Integral Part of Halal Industry and Practical Experience of Partners of the International Centre for Standardisation and Certification “Halal” under the Russia Muftis Council.
The congress was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulating and Metrology, representatives of industry unions and associations, as well as current participants in the halal industry, who shared their own experience and real cases.
