Halal International Congress held during Prodexpo 2020
Halal Eurasia at Prodexpo involving major manufacturers of Halal products is taking place as part of Prodexpo 2020. It opened at Expocentre today for the third straight year.
The showcase receives keen attention of food industry and food market actors. It is organised by the Halal international standardization and certification center operating under the Russian Council of Muftis. The goal of the showcase is to offer Halal product manufacturers a platform for interaction with their clients and an opportunity to declare themselves and to present their product range to potential buyers.
The Halal International Congress took place on the first day of the exhibition. The forum attracted food manufacturing specialists, wholesalers, retailers, and new companies arriving at the food segment of the Russian market. Congress participants, including heads of companies and representatives of industry organisations and agencies operating in the dynamic Halal segment in Russia and other countries, shared their practices.
First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis Rushan Abbyasov said in his greetings to congress delegates that the Halal industry had established itself in Russia in the eyes of local Muslims and people of other religions due to the high quality and healthy choice of Halal products. In his opinion, the Halal industry has a big potential to meet the increasing demand in Russia and to develop Russian food exports, primarily to the Middle East.
For certified manufacturers, the Halal Congress presented a perfect opportunity to learn about the current status and prospects of the market inside and outside Russia. They received valuable expert advice on the efficient use of competitive advantages of Halal products and detailed information about benefits of working on the Halal product market, the certification procedure, and main sales channels.
The congress ended with the award ceremony of the Best Halal Product competition at Prodexpo 2020.
