Prodexpo 2021 gathered an impressive group of exhibitors

Today Prodexpo 2021, the 28th International Exhibition for Food, Beverages, Food Raw Materials, opened at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The trade show is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.     

At Prodexpo 2021, 30 thematic salons showcase an extensive range of food - from everyday basics and drinks to gourmet delicacies, as well as organic, sports nutrition, nutrition for a healthy lifestyle, halal, kosher, and exotic products. Only here are the largest stands of spirits and wines in Russia. The exhibition will delight food market professionals with a number of premieres in all sectors of the exhibition.

Sergey Mitin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management, noted with satisfaction during the official opening of the exhibition "that for the 28th time the largest food producers are gathering here at Expocentre to show their capabilities, their new products. The exhibition's accompanying programme is very helpful in identifying focal points and directing government support measures more appropriately to one or another sub-sector of agriculture.

Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that "this exhibition is a long-awaited event. Covid has separated many people and forced them to communicate remotely. Today Prodexpo 2021 provides a great opportunity to meet face-to-face. There are so many entrepreneurs from the Russian regions at the exhibition. They have achieved considerable success and today there is an opportunity not only to see what they have done, but also to compare their products with foreign ones".

Vladimir Katenyov, a member of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, said that he represented St. Petersburg. "Food production is one of the key activities of our region. It is a well growing branch of economy, the principles of which are technological independence, ecological safety, import substitution. And I would like to note that dozens of global brands have localised their production in St. Petersburg".

Alexey Vyalkin, Acting Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, noted that "despite the objectively difficult situation in the world, Prodexpo 2021 gathered an impressive group of exhibitors and turned out to be large-scale and very interesting. The trade show takes place in all the pavilions of Expocentre Fairgrounds. The exhibition space exceeds 85,000 square meters. This year, 1,554 companies from 44 countries are presenting their best food and beverage products. 10 countries are represented at the national level".

The opening ceremony was also attended by Vladimir Skvortsov, Deputy Director of the Food and Processing Industry Department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Piotr Chekmarev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Chuvash Republic - Plenipotentiary Representative of the Chuvash Republic to the President of the Russian Federation, Maxim Protasov, Head of the Russian Quality System, Pasquale Terracciano, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to the Russian Federation.

The exhibition runs till April 16.
