Prodexpo 2022, the International Exhibition for Food, Beverages, Food Raw Materials has opened today at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds. EXPOCENTRE AO holds the 29th edition of the exhibition with the support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Prodexpo 2022 is the traditional meeting place for Russian and foreign food market leaders. Leading food and drink manufacturers, buyers from federal and regional chains, retailers, caterers and restaurant professionals will hold talks with new clients and suppliers, expand their sales geography and sign new contracts, get acquainted with market innovations and find new partners.

More than two thousand companies from 54 countries take part in the trade show on a total area of around 100,000 square metres. The exhibitors display a wide range of high quality food products in 30 thematic salons - from basic everyday products and drinks to gourmet delicacies, organic, sports, functional food, healthy living, halal, kosher and exotic products.

The conference programme focuses on the issues of quality, food and drink safety. The focus is also on organic products, sustainability and packaging.

The official opening ceremony of Prodexpo 2022 was attended by Sergey Mitin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management, Vyacheslav Loginov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Development of Far East and Arctic, Artyom Kiryanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Maxim Protasov, Head of Roskachestvo, Alexey Vyalkin, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, representatives of ministries, heads of industry associations, and representatives of foreign embassies in Russia.

"It is very important for everyone that we hold such a major exhibition at this difficult time," said Sergey Katyrin. "In the previous two years, the exhibition industry was one of the hardest hit. Many companies closed down. Therefore today with this exhibition we are opening a new page of the exhibition industry. I know that our exhibition colleagues in Russia and abroad are watching us closely. Holding such a major exhibition as Prodexpo 2022 is a step that I hope will help colleagues both in our country and abroad to actively start exhibition activities".

"This exhibition managed to unite a huge number of residents of our country and our foreign colleagues, representatives of the agro-industrial complex, retail chains, producers and processors, and consumers who are interested in what food products the current market provides. Prodexpo 2022 has become a landmark event," stressed Sergey Mitin.

Vyacheslav Loginov read out a welcome address to Prodexpo 2022 from Nikolay Kharitonov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Development of Far East and Arctic, and expressed his hope that exhibitions could soon be held without pandemic restrictions.

Artyom Kiryanov wished everyone a successful holding of Prodexpo 2022 and successful overcoming of pandemic consequences which the exhibition and congress activity faced.

Maxim Protasov noted that Prodexpo displays current trends in the food market from year to year. “For example, this year we see an increase in the number and high level of stands of Russian winemakers marked by the Russian Wine Guide, a joint project of Roskachestvo, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. Zones of healthy lifestyle products, including organic food products certified by Roskachestvo, are worth noting. And, of course, we are proud to see products bearing the Russian Quality Mark at the exhibition. And this is no surprise: according to the ROMIR research holding, 54% of buyers will prefer a product marked with the Russian Quality Mark. Consumer confidence in such products has grown and as of 2022 stands at 76%. Thus, Prodexpo has been and remains the main barometer of trends in the Russian food market.”

Alexey Vyalkin expressed gratitude to the guests of the exhibition and especially to the exhibitors of Prodexpo 2022 from 54 countries, who chose this venue. He assured that EXPOCENTRE’s team will do their best to make the exhibitors as comfortable and productive as possible at the exhibition venue.

Prodexpo 2022 will run until February 11 and will be held in accordance with the methodological guidelines approved by Rospotrebnadzor for preventing the spread of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in exhibition and congress activities, as well as in accordance with the regulations of the competent state authorities in force at the time of the exhibition.
