Experts discussed sustainability and ecology

Within Prodexpo 2023, the International Exhibition for Food, Beverages, Raw Materials, the panel session ‘Sustainable development and ecology: a trend and driver of projects in the field of wild harvesting, production of organic products, agrarian and gastronomic tourism. Corporations, retail chains and small businesses: how to achieve symbiosis and mutually beneficial cooperation to the delight of consumers’ took place. The session was held in online and offline formats. Organisers: National Ecoresource, EXPOCENTRE AO, Imperia Forum, the Committee for Ecological Development of the Russian Public Relations Association, Organic Vill Agroprompark. 

Presentations on sustainable development and ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) principles, the relevance of environmental issues, social problems and many others were made by Denis Raksha, CEO of National Ecoresource, Andrey Sharonov, CEO of National ESG Alliance, Irina Mitrofanova, curator of GR projects at RBC, Valery Maltsev, Head of the Committee on Environmental Development of the Russian Public Relations Association, Ivan Babukhadze, Director of Union of Independent Networks of Russia, Natalia Ivanova, Corporate Director of the Leontiev Centre - AV Group. The session was moderated by Yury Rudakov, President of the National Ecoresource Union of Wild Harvest Processors.

During the panel session the participants informed the companies of the wild collection and processing of wild plants, production of organic products, agro-tourism, etc. about what the Sustainable Development Concept and ESG principles are, how these principles can be applied in small business, how to attract green finance, what are the prospects and mechanisms of interaction with large companies and the state in this direction.

The event was attended by business representatives, industry experts, representatives of federal, regional and municipal authorities, industry unions and associations, media, development institutes and financial institutions.
