28th edition of the International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials

Prodexpo 2021 is a respected business platform for meeting buyers of federal and regional chains, which are strategic customers of the food industry in Russia and the Eurasian Union countries, and representatives of HoReCa. 

According to the Russian National Exhibition Rating, Prodexpo is Russia’s largest exhibition in the Food Products category.

Prodexpo is popular thanks to its high commercial efficiency. Every year, industry professionals learn about new products, trademarks and brands, find optimal business solutions, establish new business contacts, and sign lucrative contracts.

Despite the current difficult situation in the world, the exhibition has brought together a representative group of participants. It once again is large-scale and very interesting.

As usual, Prodexpo will offer many interesting products to buyers of retail chains and HoReCa.

The opening ceremony will be held on April 12 at 12.30 in the Gallery between Pavilions No.2 and No.8.

Showcase

The Italian national pavilion is the largest one with 34 companies bringing olives, olive oil, coffee, confectionery, groceries, and wine. Spain is also bringing its traditional specialties such as olives olive oil, and wine. Serbia is expanding its presence at Prodexpo increasing both the number of brands and products on display and the area of the stand. The range of products displayed by Russian regional pavilions is broad and varied: meat, dairy products, cheese, groceries, fish, canned food, confectionery and bakery products, snacks, dried fruit, food ingredients, vegetable fats, soft drinks, juices, mineral water, tea, coffee, and ice cream. A significant part is occupied by healthy products and regional specialties such as honey, mushrooms, nuts, jams, and seaweed. Functional nutrition and biotechnology will also be presented. Prodexpo 2021 features 30 product sectors with a wide range of food and beverages from everyday products to fine foods, organic products, sports and healthy nutrition, halal, kosher, and exotic foods. There is also Russia’s largest showcase of alcoholic drinks and wines. Professionals will be pleased to see a number of new products in all sectors of the exhibition. 

The Meat and Meat Products. Cooked Meats. Poultry, Eggs sector welcomes about 100 companies including major holdings and small companies from different regions of Russia. In addition to Russian exhibitors, Belarus companies also deserve attention. The sector’s display features a variety of meats: beef, including marbled beef, pork, lamb, venison and horse meat, as well as poultry: chicken, duck, turkey, and quail meat. 

The Dairy Products. Cheese sector features more than 130 companies from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Serbia. It shows a wide range of dairy, fermented dairy and cottage cheese products, butter, spreads, chocolate butter, ghee, caviar butter, rillettes, as well as cheeses: hard cheese, ricotta, burrata, mozzarella, and stracciatella. There are products made from cow’s, goat's and sheep's milk.

More than 300 companies take part in the sector of Confectionery. Snacks. Nuts. Dried Fruit. Bakery. This year Russian companies dominate this sector. Buyers for retailers and HoReCa are expected to find a lot of interesting products. There will also be confectionery from Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Colombia, France, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Poland, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.

As usual, the sector offers an abundance of sugary and flour confectionery, chocolate and cocoa products as well as various snacks, nuts, dried fruit, and honey. Healthy confectionery products, such as confectionery with stevia, superfoods, 100% organic snacks (apples), and confectionery products for active people (protein bars) are also widely exhibited. Confectionery products for children, one of the fastest-growing areas, offer wonderful products with toys, products in smart packaging that encourage creativity, and healthy sweets. 

The sector of Tea. Coffee offers a wide range of tea and coffee from classic to trendy and signature. There are more than 50 companies from Russia, Armenia, Germany, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, and Turkey. Sri Lanka has arranged a national pavilion. Prodexpo 2021 offers teas for every taste from herbal and trendy matcha latte and buckwheat teas to classic Ceylon and Chinese. There are also new coffee related products both for HoReCa and retail.

More than 30 companies from Russia, Italy, Peru, Spain, and Turkey show their certified organic products in in the Prodexpo Organic sector (Pavilion No.2, Hall 5). Red Mill (Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods, the USA) takes part in Prodexpo for the first time. It is one of the world's largest producers of certified organic products ranging from quinoa and chia seeds to golden couscous and amaranth grains. Natur Import+ showcases Georgian farm products, organic produce and functional chaga drinks. Frozen organic fruit and vegetables are presented by Sardes (Turkey). Leaders of the Russian organic food market, Shulgino (Ì2) and Story in Bogimovo, have announced new products for the exhibition. 

ProdexpoWINE welcomes about 200 companies including a number of new distributors and representatives of foreign companies. Armenia has a national pavilion. ProdexpoWINE showcases elite alcohol, brandy, infusions, wine, beer, including craft beer, low alcoholic drinks, and cider, which has been really trendy recently.

A series of master classes within The Russian Wine Corner. The Centre of Wine Culture (Pavilion No.2, Hall 1, Stand 21D10) takes place over four days, from April 13 through 16. The first AlcoHall: Supply Negotiations 2021 brings together manufacturers, suppliers and buyers of alcoholic beverages for retail chains and HoReCa (13 April, 11.00–14.00, Pavilion No.1, Upper Level between Entrances A and B).   

Other sectors with a wide range of products are Groceries. Cereals. Pasta. Spices, Kitchen Herbs, Products for Healthy Lifestyle, and Juices. Mineral Water. Soft Drinks

As ususal, Prodexpo showcases solutions and equipment for food and beverage manufactures. This year, they are quality control systems for semi-finished and finished products (metal detectors and X-ray systems), packaging equipment (bag and tray sealers – traysealers), labelling and marking equipment. A large range of cheese coatings and coating equipment are also showcased. 

As usual, EXPOCENTRE AO and the Afina Recruitment Agency arrange Prodexpo’s Employment Centre (Stand 85Ñ10), which helps employers to find staff and jobseekers to find work. In addition, the centre's staff will advise on today's most relevant issues such as how the demand for telecommuting and part-time work has grown, what percentage of employees are actively looking for work in 2021, how and what skills can and should be trained, why Moscow employers are interested in employees from other Russian regions, what for the staff qualifications have to be upgraded, and whether modernisation of production helps to optimise staff. 

Experts of Rossouyzkholodprom offer consultations to the exhibitors and visitors in the Counselling Centre for Refrigeration Technology (Stand 71D84) about the introduction of modern equipment, technological solutions and innovations that make it possible to save the maximum amount of products during processing, delivery and storage. 

A Business Centre (Pavilion No.2, Hall 3, Stand 23C80) and a MatchMaking area (Pavilion No.2, Halls 1, 3, Stands 21E06, 21E07, 23B80) are organised for talks in a comfortable environment. 

Prodexpo 2021 offers a Press Centre of Retail.ru, the industry’s largest portal about retail, (Pavilion No.1, Upper Level, Stand 12B10). It offers both exhibitors and visitors to make a short video about their companies or projects. All videos will be published on the official Facebook page of the Retail.ru Business Centre. Then you can share your video on your personal and corporate page, download it, send to your partners, or upload it to your website. 

Supporting events 

Prodexpo 2021 offers a rich programme of different events such as major international forums, conferences, workshops, panels, master classes, presentations, and leading professional competitions. 

The programme will be opened with the Plenary Session on the Trends of the Food and Beverage Market 2021. How has the pandemic changed the market, and what can we do about it? It is organised by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, EXPOCENTRE AO, the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), and RBC. The participants will discuss measures to increase investments in the food industry, plans for the development of the food market in 2021, production, export and import of Russian food products, a role of industry associations in the dialogue between government and business in the food market, and the demand for Russian brands in the international market. The event’s participants are representing the Russian Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the food industry’s key associations. 

A strategic cooperation agreement in the field of educational and research development between the National Union of Meat Processors and the Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technologies and Management will be signed during the Prodexpo official opening ceremony. 

The first year results of the Federal Law on Organic Products are going to be discussed during the Panel on Legitimacy of Organic Products, organised by the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo) and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The participants in the Practical Conference on Organic Products: New Meanings and Value for the Retail and Public will discuss the meaning and importance of organic products as not only a new and promising sector of the food industry but also as an agricultural practice which gives the public additional services. The programme will be concluded with the Panel “Eat Organic – Do Good Deeds. How Can New Meanings Become a Boost for Organic Industry Development in Russia?” 

The final event of the Prodexpo organic day will be an award ceremony of the Prodexpo Organic Awards. This year it is the third edition of the competition which is organised by LookBio, Russia’s main organic related media outlet. 

Imperia KVK will organise its traditional events for retailers, manufacturers of packaging and foodstuffs and beverages, food suppliers, buyers from federal, regional and local retail chains. The events will be devoted to supplies of goods under manufacturer brands and store or HoReCa brands.

EXPOCENTRE AO and Vestnik of the Licensing Market organise the first International Conference on Licensed Food Brands for food and beverage manufacturers. The conference will cover cases of the largest licensors (our spoiler: there are especially many of them in the confectionary industry, and with a target audience of 0+; we will also talk about how sports event brands work, including those with state support). The experts will also share unique information on how to choose and work with brands for goods, which images are popular today and, most importantly, will be popular tomorrow, i.e. promising in terms of profit.

The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Russian State University of Tourism and Services and EXPOCENTRE AO organise the Annual Panel on Russian Hospitality. This year the main topic is Gastronomic Souvenirs: Creating Tourist Impressions. The event will culminate with the announcement of the winners and award ceremonies of the professional tourism competitions: Taste Experience 2020, The Tourist Brand: The Best Practices 2020, The Best Tourism Portal 2020, and the Professional Competition of Guide Books, Tourist Maps and Smart Applications of Russia.

AlcoCongress 2021 will address the issues of alcohol advertising and information about it, as well as online sale of wine and spirits. Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies and legislative authorities will give answers to questions of market participants and the industry’s key associations. The invited participants represent the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation, the Roskomnadzor Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, and the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing. Lawyers will comment on the entry into force of Federal Law No.149-FZ on Information, Information Technology and Information Protection of 27 July 2006, which creates a new potential threat for bloggers and other social media authors. 

Best Practice from the experts of Export and Import 2021 will share successful practices of exporters to Europe, China, the USA, Africa, and the Middle East.
