29th edition of the International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials

Prodexpo 2022 is the largest trade show of foodstuffs, beverages and food raw materials in Russia and Eastern Europe.

The exhibition will once again become a much-anticipated meeting place for leaders of the Russian and foreign food market. Leading food and drink manufacturers, buyers from federal and regional chains, retailers, caterers and restaurant professionals will hold talks with new customers and suppliers, expand their sales geography, conclude new contracts, learn about new products on the market, and find new partners.

Despite the difficult period of the pandemic related restrictions, Prodexpo continues to be the main demonstration and networking platform for the food industry. 

Prodexpo 2022 will showcase a wide range of foodstuffs and beverages, including alcohol. We are also expecting some landmark premieres: new companies, new brands and trademarks. 

The opening ceremony will be held on February 7 at 13.00 in the Gallery between Pavilions No.2 and No.8.

We organise Prodexpo 2022 in compliance with all guidelines for safe holding of exhibitions and congresses approved by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), as well as the regulations of the relevant authorities in force at the time of the exhibition.

Showcase

Russian regional group stands and pavilions will present a lot of new products. They will definitely surprise their visitors with their diversity, presenting meat, dairy products, cheeses, groceries, fish, tea, coffee, ice-cream, health foods, functional foods and biotechnology, as well as equipment, services, and packaging solutions for the food industry. 

Some regions organise two group stands each in different product sectors. There will also be regions which are newcomers to the show: the Komi Republic, the Republic of Crimea, Udmurtia, Irkutsk, Lipetsk, Murmansk, Novgorod Oblasts, Kuzbass, and the Nenets Autonomous Oblast.

Prodexpo 2022 features 30 product sectors with a wide range of food and beverages from everyday products to fine foods, organic products, sports and healthy nutrition, halal, kosher, and exotic foods. There is also Russia’s largest showcase of alcoholic drinks and wines.

The Meat and Meat Products. Cooked Meats. Poultry, Eggs sector welcomes 109 companies from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, France, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, and Uruguay. The sector will be located in Pavilion No.2, Hall2, to show a variety of meats such as beef, including marbled beef, pork, lamb, venison and horse meat, as well as poultry such as chicken, duck, turkey, and quail meat. Organic meats will be showcased in the Prodexpo Organic salon in Pavilion No.2, Hall 5.

The Dairy Products. Cheese sector features more than 150 companies from Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Serbia, and Kazakhstan (Pavilion Forum). It shows a wide range of dairy, fermented dairy and cottage cheese products, butter, spreads, chocolate butter, ghee, caviar butter, and rillettes. The Prodexpo Organic salon (Pavilion No.2, Hall 5) will show organic dairy products. 

The Ice-Cream sector will bring together companies from Russia, Belarus, Italy, and Kazakhstan. For the first time there will be showed ice-cream from Saudi Arabia. Russian companies will offer a variety of new products, including ice-cream designed for healthy lifestyle enthusiasts who monitor their carbohydrate and sugar intake. The sector will present sugar-free natural ice-cream with added vitamin-mineral complexes and prebiotics. It will be located in Pavilion No.7 (Halls 1, 2). 

The traditionally large sector of Confectionery. Bakery. Snacks. Nuts. Dried Fruit will show products of 394 companies from Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, France, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Peru, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Turkiye, the UK, and Uzbekistan. You can find it in Pavilions No. 2 (Halls 4, 5), No.4, No.7 (Halls 3–6). 

The sector of Groceries. Cereals. Pasta. Spices, Kitchen Herbs (Pavilions Forum and No.2, Hall 3) shows products of 149 companies from Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Italy, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and Turkiye. 

The Canned Food. Sauces. Ketchups sector welcomes 127 companies from Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Finland, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Serbia, South Korea, Spain, and Turkiye in Pavilions No.1 and No.2, Hall 3. The showcase will include both everyday and special products such as various game meats, venison, olives, canned exotic fruit and vegetables. 

The participants of the sector of Frozen Food. Semi-prepared Foods and Ready Meals (Pavilion No.1) show products from Russia, Italy, Serbia, and Vietnam, which include frozen fruit and vegetables, ready and semi-prepared meals, pelmeni, vereniki, etc. New products include a frozen fruit puree for production of beverages.

The sector of Tea. Coffee (Pavilion No.8,l Hall 3) will bring together Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Ecuador, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Nepal, Ruanda, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Turkiye. Sri Lanka will have a national pavilion to present its products. The assortment is going to be very diverse: flowering, pressed, gift, herbal, berry, fruit, loose-leaf tea; black, green, white, oolong, pu-erh; tea blends inspired by healthy eating and living trends; coffee for coffee pots and coffee machines, extra fine grinding, for French press and mocha, with varying degrees of roast and ground; chicory, coffee drinks, cocoa and hot chocolate. There will also be new exhibitors from Italy. 

One of the most popular current trends is products for healthy eating and living. The sector of Products for Healthy Lifestyle (Pavilion No.2, Hall 6) will bring together companies from Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and Uzbekistan to showcase sports and functional food, vegan food, beverages, protein bars, nutritional supplements, gluten-free products, plant-based milk and meat, and many other products. 

The Prodexpo Organic salon (Pavilion No.2, Hall 5) will as usual generate a lot of interest among food retail and HoReCa buyers. It features unique and sometimes even sensational offerings. The range of products covers meat, dairy, confectionery, groceries, vegetables, fruit, drinks, spices and superfoods. The geographical range of exhibitors is very representative: Russia, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. The geography of the producers is even wider: products come from five continents. 

The exhibitors of the Juices, Water. Soft Drinks sector (Pavilion No.5, Halls 1, 2) will demonstrate products of more than 100 manufacturers from Russia, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, South Korea, and Turkiye.

The sector of Vegetable Fats (Pavilions No.8, Halls 2, and No.2, Hall 3) is growing. This year, companies from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, France, Greece, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Spain, and Tunisia will show sunflower, olive, hemp, rapeseed, linseed, sesame, avocado, walnut, almond, mustard, and pumpkin seed oil.

The sector of Fish and Seafood (Pavilion No.1) will show live, chilled and quick frozen fish, seafood, caviar, gourmet fish, snacks, canned fish and seafood. Russian manufacturers showcase a wide range of sea, river, lake and farmed fish. The geography of exhibitors covers all Russian regions known for their fish and seafood: Vladivostok, Siberia, Salekhard, Yakutia, and Astrakhan. There will also be products from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Italy, and South Korea. 

Russia’s largest alcohol showcase Prodexpo Wine will welcome 344 companies (Pavilions No.1, No.2 (Halls 1, 3), No.3, No.8 (Hall 1), and Central). The geography of wine makers is wide. This year the exhibitors come from Russia, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Belarus, France, Georgia, Italy, Moldova, Portugal, Serbia, South Ossetia, Spain, and Uzbekistan. Hard alcohol is presented by companies from Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Finland, France, and Serbia. Some beverages come from Belgium, Ireland, Mexico, and Mongolia. The topic of beer will also be very well covered with large, medium-sized and small breweries coming from Russia, Belarus, Estonia, and Lithuania. A lot of attention will be paid to craft beer, which is very popular now. Low alcohol will be presented by manufacturers from Russia and Italy. 

Master classes of the Wine from Russia corner will come back. A new Craft Beer corner will present about 20 craft breweries. 

The sectors of Packaging Solutions, Glass Containers, New Year and Christmas Gifts. Equipment and Services will present fresh ideas and technologies, including for retail equipment, packaging solutions and ready-made packaging for every taste and occasion, including festive and New Year's packaging,

As usual, EXPOCENTRE AO and the Afina Recruitment Agency arrange Prodexpo’s Employment Centre, which helps employers to find staff and jobseekers to find work. This year the show will also feature experts in staff leasing, organising teams of workers for warehousing logistics, catering, retail, production, and operational management of these teams. You can find it at Stand 85Ñ10.

The Retail.ru portal, as an official media partner of Prodexpo 2022, will cover the show and its exhibitors. It offers both exhibitors and visitors to make a short video interview about their companies, products or projects in a special Retail.ru studio. All questions are asked a Retail.ru host. All interviews will be published on a Video page of the Retail.ru website, the official Facebook and YouTube accounts of Retail.ru. Then you can share your video on your personal and corporate page, download it, send to your partners, or upload it to your website. The Retail.ru will be located on a balcony of Pavilion No.1 next to the Retail Chains Centre. The video interviews will be recorded on all days of the show from 7 to 11 February 2022.

Conference programme 

The Prodexpo conference programme will focus on quality and safety of foodstuffs and beverages. Organic products, sustainability and packaging will also be in the centre of attention. The Purchasing Centre for Retail Chains will definitely be a key event. 

The programme will be opened by the Panel on Retail as an Infrastructure to Promote Organic Products, organised by the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo) and EXPOCENTRE AO. The panel will discuss measures to increase sales of organic products in retail chains and the need for a comprehensive approach to promoting organic products in all sales channels, taking into account the characteristics of each retail format and sales promotion solutions. The participants will include representatives of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and heads of heathy eating and eco departments of different retail chains.

Two important events will be the Plenary Session on the Russian Quality System: Trends, Projects, Prospects and the Session on Manufacturers on the Path to Business Perfection

The participants in the Conference on Organic Products in the Light of the Climate Agenda will talk about a role of organic agriculture in sustainable development as well as adaptation and mitigation of climate change. Foreign and Russian speakers will present cases of using organic practices to improve the environment. The conference will be concluded with the panel with stakeholders of the Russian organic market on the topic of How to Develop the Organic Industry in Russia. 

There will be regular events organised by Imperia Forum and EXPOCENTRE for retailers, manufacturers of packaging and foodstuffs, suppliers of foodstuffs, buyers from federal, regional and local retail chains and their suppliers. 

Prodexpo 2022 will feature the largest Purchasing Centre for Retail Chains™! More than 300 buyers from federal, regional and local retail chains will come to refresh the assortment and find new and interesting products.

Food suppliers will hold meetings with representatives of retail chains, marketplaces and HoReCa. These meetings provide an opportunity to present a product, clarify details of logistics, learn about competition 'on the shelf', get personalised advice, and also to conclude a contract. The buyers will include Auchan, Azbuka Vkusa, VkusVill, Svetofor, Ozon, Yandex.Lavka, Subway, Komandor, and 100 more companies not only from Russia but also from the USA, China and Europe.

In addition to direct talks with retail chains, there will be four other events:

  • the Russian Food Forum for Suppliers for Retail Chains: the show’s main meeting aimed to improve the efficiency of cooperation between retail chains and suppliers

  • the Russian Food Forum on PLB 2022: a special event for all those who are interested in supplying products under a chain’s own trade mark

  • PLATFORUM: a key event for FMCG suppliers about cooperation with marketplaces and online stores

  • the Conference on Modern Food Packaging: a comprehensive programme of developing eco-friendly, safe and in-demand packaging, which helps to sell products

The main p5rogramme will also include the Panel on FOOD PACK: Visual Power Strategies for Regional Gastronomy Brands. It is organised by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support of the HSE Art and Design School and EXPOCENTRE AO.

The event will be attended by representatives of chambers of commerce and industry, industry associations, higher education institutions, food packaging designers, and regional manufacturers. The panel will include an exhibition of packaging designs created by students of the HSE Art and Design School. During the discussion, experts will talk about such relevant issues as where do you start with brand development?, how can you visually highlight your product?, what aspects should be paid attention to when visualising a gastronomic brand?
